$1-Per-Document Giving Model Turns Private Markets Workflows Into Measurable Impact
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 24, 2026 – Ontra, the leader in AI-powered solutions for the private markets, today announced that its corporate social responsibility program, the Legal Aid Alliance, has surpassed $1 million in donations since the program’s founding. To date, the Legal Aid Alliance has contributed more than $1.3 million to legal aid organizations globally, advancing efforts to close the access-to-justice gap — a challenge largely fueled by chronic underfunding across the legal aid ecosystem.
The Legal Aid Alliance is Ontra’s impact-driven giving program designed to expand access to justice. Through the program, Ontra donates $1 for documents processed through its AI-powered Contract Automation and Insight solutions, which help private markets firms accelerate routine contract negotiations and manage fund and credit obligations. Each year, Ontra customers help direct donations by selecting recipient organizations from a vetted list provided by Ontra. In addition to financial support, Ontra partners with recipient organizations and participates in industry events to amplify support for legal aid.

A Scalable Program Built Into Critical Private Markets Workflows
Ontra launched the program in 2021–2022 as Dollar a Document, establishing a consistent approach to impact by linking donations directly to product usage. In 2023, Ontra renamed the initiative Legal Aid Alliance to reflect the program’s expanding global reach as donations broadened across APAC and EMEA.
The program’s model is designed to deliver measurable, ongoing support:
- $1.3M+ donated over the life of the program
- Ongoing, scalable funding tied directly to Contract Automation and Insight document volumes
- Customer-directed giving through an annual selection process from a vetted recipient list
Deep Partnerships Across the Legal Aid Ecosystem
Ontra’s Legal Aid Alliance has also strengthened collaboration with leading legal aid organizations, including the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a nonpartisan organization that vets and approves U.S.-based recipient organizations supported by the program.

- Sponsoring and participating in industry events to amplify support for access-to-justice initiatives
