From Bottlenecks to Breakthroughs: Simplifying Compliance with AI in Private Markets

David Vermiglio is a Partner, CFO & CCO at Lorient Capital Management, LLC. David spends his time overseeing the firm’s accounting, tax and financial reporting functions, as well as regulatory compliance functions. Before joining the Lorient team, he served as Vice President of Finance at Huron Capital Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm. Prior to that, David was a tax manager at Plante & Moran, a public accounting firm where he focused on both partnership taxation and private equity owned clients. David is a certified public accountant and holds a MS in accountancy and a BBA from Loyola University Chicago.

Ed joined Blue Point in 2022, with nearly a decade of experience across legal, regulatory and compliance applications. Previously, he was Assistant Legal Counsel & Director of Compliance at Life Equity, LLC, and a Compliance Specialist at Amtrust Financial Services, Inc. He began his career focused on compliance within The Ohio State University and Cleveland State University Athletics Department.

Ed holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Ohio University, a Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and is admitted to the Ohio bar. On behalf of Blue Point, Ed serves on the Firm's ESG Committee.

Matt Crowley is the General Manager of Growth Products, including Insight, Ontra’s solution for Fund and Obligation Management. Matt joined Ontra in 2022 to build Atlas, Entity Management software for private markets. After launching and leading that product, Matt transitioned to his current role where he works with customers and Product teams to continually innovate and grow product features and capabilities in the fund obligation space. Prior to joining Ontra, Matt held a number of Strategy and consulting roles, most recently at Thomson Reuters. Matt lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife Victoria and their dog Wanona.
