Hugh MacArthur is a senior partner and chairman of Bain’s Global Private Equity Practice. He helped found the practice over 30 years ago, and works with private equity funds and alternative asset managers of all descriptions, including LPs.

Hugh has advised funds in every geography, and has worked on hundreds of assignments across deals, firm strategy, operations and organization. Hugh is also the host of Bain & Company’s Dry Powder: The Private
Equity Podcast, in which he interviews leading experts on the trends and opportunities that will redefine the private equity industry.

Hugh is the creator of Bain’s annual Private Equity Report. He is the author of the book “Lessons from Private Equity Any Company Can Use,” and he currently writes a LinkedIn blog on private markets topics called Private Thoughts from my Desk.

Troy is Ontra’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. He has led the company from inception to becoming the market-leading provider of contract automation and intelligence to the private markets. Ontra now has over 400 employees, offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, and investors such as Blackstone and Battery Ventures. Prior to Ontra, Troy worked in private equity investing at H.I.G. Capital, where he made majority buyout investments in middle-market companies in financial technology and logistics. Earlier, he worked in management consulting at Monitor Deloitte, where he focused on M&A due diligence and integration. Troy is an active mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters, Los Angeles (BBBSLA). Troy holds a B.A. from New York University. Based in Los Angeles, Troy enjoys sailing, biking, reading, and spending time with his wife and two kids.
